Dental Fillings

Fillings are one of the most common treatments performed by dentists. They are used to treat cavities in the teeth caused by decay and will also be used to restore broken or cracked teeth. We carry out fillings using either dental amalgam or composite filling. The latter is a white filling that is becoming more popular thanks to its white colour matching the natural colour of teeth.

Root Canal

Root canal treatment is needed when the blood or nerve supply of the tooth (known as the pulp) is infected through decay or injury. You may not feel any pain in the early stages of the infection, although it may lead to an abscess forming which can be painful. In some cases, your tooth could darken in colour which may mean that the nerve of the tooth has died (or is dying). This would need root canal treatment and treatments are also available to colour correct the tooth.

Crowns and Bridges

A crown is used to entirely cover or "cap" a damaged tooth. Besides strengthening a damaged tooth, a crown can be used to improve its appearance, shape or alignment. Bridges are commonly used to replace one or more missing teeth. They span the space where the teeth are missing. Long Buckby Dental is able to offer both treatments and has successfully worked with many patients.

Veneers and Laminates

A veneer is a thin layer of material placed over a tooth and is designed to either protect damage to the tooth’s surface or to improve the colour, shape and position of teeth. Made from porcelain or a composite material it is coloured to replicate natural teeth colour and glued to the surface of the tooth creating a natural look.
